The Lakota and Nez Perce were two Native American tribes who lived in the western portion of the United States. The Lakota lived in the North Dakota area,
and the Nez Perce migrated around the Idaho, Oregon, and Washington areas. While they were relatively close to each other, the differences in climate, vegetation, and wildlife caused their hunting patterns, migratory patterns, and overall lifestyle to be worlds apart.
The tribes will be compared based on how they lived before they came in contact with European settlers. However, some of the technologies and animals that they had and hunted were indirectly supplied by the whites.
