Conclusion
While there appears to be similarities in the lives of the Lakota and the Nez Pearce there really isn't. The commonality is there but the causes of the commonality vary. They both follow food sources. However the Lakota's lives stay very stagnant during this time. The climate, vegetation, and wildlife hardly change. But during the travels of the Nez Pearce they explore new climates, everything changes and they change to adapt to that, every season something about their culture alters.
Their food also varied compared to their fellow natives. They had a varied diet that was based on what was available at the time. The Nez Pearce got their food from a variety of sources while the Lakota hunted and gathered from a few origins. They both however preserved their bounties for winter and later times.
The Lakota and Nez Pearce lived their lives differently because of their geography. The Lakota did not have the means to live the diverse lifestyle of the Nez Pearce. There is simply nothing except for geography that could have caused these monumental differences.
